For more (much more) general information, I recommend the Nikon site and the Olympus site.

For more information on the history of Nikon microscopes, check out the Nikon Museum.

A course at UC Berkeley, Techniques in Light Microscopy would be very interesting.

Brooke Clarke also attempts to explain the multitude of variations on (primarily Nikon) microscopy produced over the years. He also delves more deeply into the Labophot accessories.

Microscope Master reviews a few Nikon models, as well.

There are many other Nikon microscopes which I have not owned. They include the Biophot, Microphot, Alphaphot, Toolmaker and others. Some of the instruments I do own can be for sale. Contact me at mtuell (at) email.arizona.edu if you would like to discuss your needs. There are so many options for viewing so many specimens that it is impractical at best to use the eBay "this is what I have for sale" method - microscopes are much more personal than that!
