Regarding the resolution, it would be ideal if we could hold the axial location of the lens to 50 micron or smaller steps.

The useful field of view of the converter lens is about 6.8mm in diameter, which corresponds to approx +/- 0.6 arc min.The slit width is TBD. However, it is likely to be between 25 to 100 microns. The length of the slit should be around 0.7mm.
We can approximate the slit plate to have a reflective surface of approx. 10 mm x 10 mm. Add a 5mm mechanical perimeter (or frame), we get a slit plate of 20mm x 20 mm. The thickness of the frame can be as thin as 5 to 7mm.
We can model the slit plate as a 20mm x 20mm x 5mm block.
